Founded by comedians and arts producers Tom Stevenson and Ru Halwala, Scary Strangers has become known for creating ambitious, high-energy comedy experiences that blend stand-up, improvisation, sketch, musical comedy and theatrical storytelling. The duo have performed and produced work across Australia and internationally, with appearances at venues and festivals including Splendour in the Grass, Brisbane Powerhouse, Australian Museum, Enmore Theatre, Comedy Store Sydney, Malthouse Theatre, Eternity Playhouse, and many more.
Over the past several years, Scary Strangers has built a reputation for producing inventive, inclusive events with diverse casts and a strong focus on community engagement. Alongside their performances, the pair have delivered comedy programs for schools, community organisations, disability services and youth justice initiatives across Australia and India.
