Sami Bayly is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator who loves all things weird and wonderful and enjoys painting realistic flora and fauna with watercolours. Join Sami for this fun water-colour workshop as part of the Bathurst Writers’ and Readers’ Festival 2026.

 

Sami Bayly is a natural history illustrator based in Newcastle, NSW, who loves all things weird and wonderful.

Her series of Illustrated Encyclopedia’s for children have won numerous awards and featured on many shortlists including as a CBCA Honour Book, ABIA Book of the Year for Younger Children and Australian Book Design Award for Younger Readers. Sami finds the beauty and importance of all animals regardless of their appearance and hopes to share her appreciation with others.
