ELEMENTS OF PRODUCTION DESIGN
with Karl Shead

In the workshop you will examine the relationship between Director and Designer and how using various elements assist in creating ‘the word’ of the play. You will look at both stage and lighting design.

Karl has been the Theatre Technical Officer at Charles Sturt University for 20 years. He has trained hundreds of theatre, event and entertainment industry graduates, as well as continued working as a professional theatre and event designer.

Before coming to CSU, Karl built scenery for Opera Australia, as well as working as a theatre designer, technician and scenic artist. As well, he has worked on events from small corporate projects to large scale projects for government stakeholders.
