APRA AMCOS in association with BMEC presents

SONGMAKERS SONGWRITING WORKSHOP

A free, 2-day workshop for creatives aged 16 – 21

Want to develop your music career? This songwriting and production workshop is for you. Collaborate with some of Australia’s most exciting hit makers to write and record new songs including Abby Smith, Kota Banks and Tim Commandeur.

Following a successful first foray in Bathurst late last year, the search is on again for aspiring Central West songwriters to be part of a Statewide music industry mentoring program. The SongMakers Holiday Sessions are presented by national music organisation, APRA AMCOS, as part of the Office for Regional Youth Holiday Break program in partnership with Create NSW.

FREE places are being offered to 16 young people, aged 16-21, to participate in the program. They will spend 2 days in the coming school holidays, writing and recording songs and learning about music careers from some of Australia’s most exciting creators.

Interested young people can email tina@songmakers.com.au for details about securing a place at the Bathurst workshop.

Tim Commandeur is an ARIA Award winning drummer and producer who co-founded Operator Please, also serves as the go-to drummer for PNAU and Alice Ivy, and has performed with Tkay Maidza, Dua Lipa, King Princess, and more.

Sydney electronic artist/writer and vocalist, Kota Banks, makes lyrically-sophisticated hyper pop. She is a frequent writing collaborator and go-to festival performer with a growing global band of passionate followers.

Central West artist/writer, Abby Smith tours as a solo artist and in folk/alt act, Smith & Jones, and has worked extensively in the local arts sector as a choir leader, workshop facilitator, mentor, and teacher.
