Arrente/Gurindji man, Dan Sultan is an Australian alternative rock singer-songwriter and guitarist, actor and author. He has been nominated for multiple ARIA Awards including Best Male Artist (2017), Best Rock Album (Killer) and Best Independent Release. He has won Best Male Artist (2010), Best Blues & Roots Album (Get Out While You Can), Best Rock Album (Blackbird), and Best Children’s Album (Nali & Friends). Sultan made his screen debut in the 2009 feature film Bran Nue Dae, alongside Missy Higgins and Jessica Mauboy. Sultan is a sometime member of Black Arm Band, a loose collection of various Indigenous musicians.
Off the back of winning the ARIA for Best Adult Contemporary Album, Dan Sultan will perform in a very special trio format with Zeppelin Hamilton (Velvet Trip) and Jack Moffit (The Preatures) from his band. In his show at BMEC, he’ll be performing songs from his newest album, Dan Sultan, as well as favourites from his impressive back catalogue.
Supporting Dan Sultan is the incredibly talented Imogen Clark who is getting ready to release a new album in May. Imogen is an artist, a storyteller, a fighter, and a dreamer. She spent her teen years at Penrith High by day, playing Western Sydney bars at night. Her songs, blending pop-rock and indie-pop, are like pages from her diary, capturing moments, memories, and confessions from her journey, battling anxiety and insecurity to fight for who she is and what she believes in, magnifying intimate emotions to arena level anthems.
