Errol Flynn’s Middle Wicket

And Other Wireless Entertainments

Join us at BMEC for a trip back in time to a 1940's radio studio for their evening programme. The night will feature live music from the 30's and 40s, as well as 2 radio plays: The Man in Black - A dark and eerie tale set during the first world war. As well as Errol Flynn's Middle Wicket - When struggling Australian actor, Alan Gillies, is invited to join the Hollywood Cricket Club he jumps at the chance to rub shoulders with Errol Flynn, Laurence Olivier and Boris Karloff and, with a bit of luck, use the old boys’ network to get a role that isn’t an English butler.  What he doesn’t bargain on is becoming involved, along with his girlfriend Myrtle, in a real life spy story.  Or learning how to bowl a googly.

BANJO

Banjo brilliantly intertwines the life events of Banjo Paterson through beautiful new arrangements of Coldplay's greatest hits, contemporary dance and his very own Verse.  From the hardship in 1880s rural Australia to his life in the city and back to the country, this beautifully portrayed story is all about the quest for happiness. Paterson’s beautiful verse – Clancy of the Overflow, As Long As Your Eyes Are Blue, Waltzing Matilda & The Man From Snowy River will blend with Clocks, Yellow, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida and more.
