CUSTODIANS

We are currently seeking applications from a suitably experienced and qualified persons to join the team of Custodians at BMEC.

The Custodians contribute to the delivery of live entertainment and events at BMEC through their responsibility for the overall presentation of the venue. They take a sense of ownership of the building and ensure that it is ready for use each day, when events are on, and for visiting companies who perform on our stages. They are an essential part of the team working closely with management to identify times and usage of the building, and the business needs to ensure the best presentation of the building.

The Custodians duties include but are not limited to tasks such as cleaning, minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing lightbulbs, identifying larger maintenance jobs, waste removal and general tidying. The Custodians bring a sense of pride to their work and to the venue which in turn flows through the whole organisation and experience of visiting customers.

The Custodians job is physical and will require bending, stretching, twisting, turning, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, walking, carrying, standing, squatting, amongst other actions. It is essential that WHS safe practices are followed and where required formal and informal training is provided.

CASUAL BAR ATTENDANTS

We are currently seeking to expand our pool of Casual Bar Staff at BMEC.

The successful applicants will be switched on, competent, punctual, well-presented, and personable with great customer service skills and attitude demonstrating initiative, ability to work in a team as well as independently. A current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA) is mandatory.

This position includes various working hours 7 days a week including day and night. Interested applicants need to be available for various shifts each week. Flexibility and a can-do approach is key to being successful in this role.

An interest in the performing arts and events would be desirable but not essential. Being positive, friendly and a team player is required. This job is physical and varies in pace from event to event. If this sounds like you, please complete the Expression of Interest and we will be in contact.
